Chapter 6 -- Securing File Resources

Chapter 6

About This Chapter

Microsoft Windows 2000 uses share permissions and NTFS permissions to protect file and print resources on a network. Your goal is to combine both sets of permissions so that only intended users or groups can access network resources. This chapter will show you how to do that, and it will also examine the design requirements for deploying Encrypting File System (EFS) to encrypt stored data.

Before You Begin

To complete this chapter, you must read the chapter scenario. This scenario is used throughout the chapter to apply the design decisions discussed in each lesson.
