The code fragments and the mini-quiz examples begin to show you what is possible with server-side scripting. You also saw scripts that served as their own form handlers. You also could compare an ASP/JavaScript and a PHP project. The script outlines worked for both projects, an example of how design can be independent of implementation details.
Just as the last chapter demonstrated a need to place information on the server, the quiz example, with the data file to be included in each script, should make you see a need for something to handle more complex information. In the next chapter, you will have a break from PHP and ASP coding, to read about database and application design.
