18.10. Summary

Networking in the Solaris 10 product underwent significant change to facilitate the loading characteristics of the Internet age and to effectively use modern network interfaces. The changes involved work up and down the network stack, with the new implementation of the TCP/IP layer (FireEngine), a new UDP layer (Yosemite), and a new Generic Lan Driver (GLD) layer (GLDv3, or Nemo).
