Areas and sections in a Crystal Report contain and organize the fields, labels, images, and all other design elements. Their placement in a report controls where the information displays and how frequently. Custom section options allow both the report designer and the report user to choose to hide or display information either conditionally or completely. Conditional formatting can be applied using the Section Expert to add formulas that force behavior based on the content or characteristics of the section. Print State formulas come in handy for customizing the behavior of multiple sections of the same type as well as controlling how the sections look.
