Before you can go much further in your study of InfoPath, you need to take a look at the Extensible Markup Language (XML), the closest thing to a “universal” format for data. XML is one of the core underlying technologies within InfoPath, and this chapter provides the background information that you’ll need a little later when you start to work with, and design, your own forms.
