Testing Your Microphone

The most straightforward way to test your microphone is to use your microphone to record a sound (and listen to the recording).

Note

To adjust the volume of your microphone, speakers, or headset, go to the Sound Control Panel for your operating system. In Windows, choose Start > Settings > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices. (Mac OS X users, choose Apple > System Preferences > Sound.)
