You can format text to emphasize it and make it easier for your reader to read. And, although the individual types of formatting are discussed separately, you can perform each of the tasks in this chapter on a single selection of text.
You can change the typeface that appears in your document by changing the font. Changing the font can help your reader better understand your document.
Use serif fonts – fonts with short lines stemming from the bottoms of the letters – to provide a line that helps the reader read. Use sans serif fonts – fonts without short lines stemming from the bottoms of the letters – for headlines.
