Align Text in Cells


To make your text look more uniform, you can align text or numbers with the top, bottom, left, right, or center of cells.

By default, Word aligns table entries at the top left edge of each cell.

  1. Position the mouse image from book inside the left edge of the cell whose alignment you want to change (image from book changes to image from book) and drag to select the cell.

  2. Click the Tables and Borders icon (image from book) to display the Tables and Borders toolbar.

  3. Click the Align icon (image from book) and click the alignment you want to use.

  4. Click anywhere to cancel the selection.

  5. Click the Close icon (image from book) to close the Tables and Borders toolbar.
