As mentioned previously, the literature examined suggests a theoretically grounded model tying the antecedent variables to organizational commitment, mediated by computer self-efficacy and outcome expectancy. The relationships suggested by the model are formally expressed by the hypotheses stated below.

  • H1: The degree of system use has a positive impact on computer self-efficacy.

  • H2: The degree of system use has a positive impact on outcome expectancy.

  • H3: Past computer experience has a positive impact on computer self-efficacy.

  • H4: Past computer experience has a positive impact on outcome expectancy.

  • H5: Computer staff support has a positive impact on computer self-efficacy.

  • H6: Computer staff support has a positive impact on outcome expectancy.

  • H7: Ease of system use has a positive impact on computer self-efficacy.

  • H8: Ease of system use has a positive impact on outcome expectancy.

  • H9: Computer self-efficacy has a positive impact on outcome expectancy.

  • H10: Computer self-efficacy has a positive impact on organizational commitment.

  • H11: Outcome expectancy has a positive impact on organizational commitment.
