E.6. logger

In the logger.conf file, you can specify the various levels of detail the system will record in its logs. The following commands allow you to reload and rotate those files. Logs are typically stored in the /var/log/asterisk/ directory.

logger reload

Reloads the log files. Required after making a change to the logger.conf configuration file.

logger rotate

Rotates and reopens the log files. When rotating, the old file is renamed to include a .n , where n is the highest numbered logfile.n + 1. If logfile.n does not exist, the file is renamed to logfile.0 .
