Copying the Aperture Lesson Files

To follow along with all the lessons, you will need to copy the lesson files onto your hard drive. The lesson files are located on the DVD accompanying this book.

1.	Insert the APTS_Aperture1.5 DVD into your computer's DVD drive. The Finder window will open, displaying the contents of the DVD. If the window does not appear, double-click the APTS_Aperture1.5 DVD icon to open it.
2.	Create a new folder on your hard drive. Name the folder APTS_Aperture_book_files. The location of this folder is important. You will be adding lessons and referring to this folder throughout the book.
3.	Drag the Lessons folder from the DVD into the APTS_Aperture_book_files folder you just created. The files will be copied onto your hard drive.
4.	Eject the DVD. Note In the event of a project file error, any corrected or updated project files will be posted at: www.peachpit.com/apts.aperture1.5. Note The content on this book's DVD is built for Aperture 1.5. If you are opening an Aperture Library created with version 1.0 or 1.1, Aperture will inform you that it is updating the Library structure and creating previews for version 1.5. For information on migrating images, see Aperture's documentation. Note that once you open a Library with Aperture 1.5, you will not be able to move backward and open it with 1.1.2 or earlier versions, so be sure to back up your Library first if this is an issue.
