Currently approximately 50% of the SomaFM's music use permissions come from the actual musicians. SomaFM makes quarterly reports to the BMI and ASCAP collection societies. SomaFM has a Not For Profit license and falls underneath the "revenue cap" for noncommercial use. Their fees (based on the most current listener statistics) hover around $600 annually.
