ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Mark L. Chambers has been an author, computer consultant, programmer, and hardware technician for more than 20 years. With a degree in journalism and creative writing from Louisiana State University, Mark took the logical career choice and started programming computers. However, after five years as a COBOL programmer for a hospital system, he became the documentation manager for Datastorm Technologies, a well-known communications software developer. Somewhere in between organizing and writing software manuals, Mark began writing computer books; his first book, Running a Perfect BBS, was published in 1994. Along with writing several books a year, Mark has recently branched out into Web-based education, designing and teaching a number of online classes — called WebClinics — for Hewlett-Packard.

Mark’s list of books includes Mac OS X All-in-One Desk Reference For Dummies, Microsoft Office v. X Power User’s Guide, Teach Yourself the iMac VISUALLY, Building a PC For Dummies, Scanners For Dummies, and CD and DVD Recording For Dummies. Mark welcomes all comments and questions about his books; you can reach him at mark@mlcbooks.com or visit MLC Books Online, his Web site, at www.mlcbooks.com.

Erick Tejkowski is an author and programmer. In addition to writing books on Mac OS X Jaguar, Cocoa programming, and REALbasic, he is a regular contributor to periodicals such as MacTech, MacWorld, and MacAddict. Erick also serves on the editorial board of REALbasic Developer magazine. He lives near St. Louis, Missouri, with his wife, Lisa, and children, Mercedes and Leopold.

We spend hours deciding the best way to perform each task, so you don’t have to! Our clear, easy-to-follow screenshots and instructions walk you through each task from beginning to end.
