System Profiler will list all devices that are connected to a bus. If a device is not listed, there is a physical connection problem between the device and the computer.

A3:

FireWire is a high-speed bus most frequently used to connect external digital video cameras and storage devices.

A4:

USB is a low-speed bus, most frequently used to connect external input devices and printers.

A5:

Bluetooth is a wireless bus used to connect between a computer and mobile phones, PDAs, and other computers.

A6:

Use System Profiler to locate the device; try a different port; disconnect other peripherals; update drivers.

A7:

Universal Access preferences allow the system to be configured to allow easier access to the computer for users who have difficulty viewing the screen, hearing, using the keyboard, or using the mouse.

A8:

Kernel extensions, which reside in the kernel; plug-ins or modules; and drivers included as part of an application.
