About the Technical Editor

John Traenkenschuh is a cubicle dweller who has worked on many corporate network infrastructures and operating system roll-out projects at two major corporations. His current job activities have him transitioning from DNS to LDAP design and support, and he is a Certified Checkpoint Security Engineer (CCSE). While not an Alpha Geek, he is working on his Beta credentials through studying Ancient Mysteries of the Universe, proper UNIX administration, and Star Trek episodes 1 through 14. In his spare time he works at his hobbies, which include woodworking and learning more about Red Hat Linux. He has an avid interest in computer security, having worked as a security analyst for more than five years, and has a future goal of writing a book on computer security for corporations that want "to get it right."
