Make a list and check it twice.
When you get into the habit of giving recognition frequently, it’s easy to lose track of whom you have recognized and, more importantly, whom you haven’t.
It’s like the man we heard of who loved to give away books with a personal inscription written inside. One day, after receiving a book from this generous fellow, the recipient said, “I thoroughly appreciate this book. It is the third copy you have given me.”
Take a recognition inventory of the people you work with. When was the last time you gave any of them some positive feedback? Like Santa, make a list and check it twice to ensure your praise is equitable.
