The book-writing process is such an individually oriented task that it's easy to forget that there are others involved. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the people who've helped get this book off the ground. First, of course, are Lisa and Victoria, who put up with some long hours on my part. Especially little Victoria, who often wondered why I was spending so much time in front of my computer. Then there are the early reviewers, who gave of their time to look over what I'd written: Jean-Claude Giguère, Anik Giguère-Biollo, Robert Kao, John Gilhuly, and especially C. Enrique Ortiz. My agent, Carole McClendon at Waterside Productions, was excited to read a book of mine she could truly understand. Finally, there are the Peachpit people to thank: Cheryl England, the patient and prodding editor who liked my pitch for this book; Steve Anzovin and Janet Podell, for developing and copyediting it; and of course all the others involved in getting it into its final printed form. |
