The Diamond of the Group and the Diamond of the Individual

Even within a group, individuals still need their own personal Diamonds. The art is to have these characters be unique, but not violate the Diamond of their group. For example, in The Lord of the Rings, Gimli has some of the Traits of a Dwarf, but he is also an individual. Arwen shares the Traits of the Elves, yet she's still unique.
