Over the last 20 days, you've learned the ins and outs of ADO.NET and how it can be used to create high-performance, scalable, and distributed applications. However, that's not the end of the story. As with all things, change is inevitable, and in future releases of Microsoft products, including SQL Server and VS .NET, you'll see ADO.NET evolve so that it's easier to use and more integrated with other Microsoft products.

Today, in this final lesson, you'll learn about two of the directions Microsoft is taking with ADO.NET to extend its reach to the database server and to make it easier to access data in an object-oriented way.
