Epilogue

The chat project ran smoothly once the technology was decided upon. The client appeared to be very satisfied with the final product. TSC's staff members were exposed to new technology, and as a result, they learned from their own experiences as well as from those of other team members.

In August, TSC was contacted to enhance the chat system to incorporate video and audio into its functionality. The second version of the chat system was under way.

Here are some things to think about:

A free-form discussion at TSC was organized to brainstorm on what the team would change and how. The meeting notes were retrieved from the document-management system and discussed.

Security

• Roles-based.

• Beef up security. Have only particular users with camera access allowed to use the video facility, and the same for audio.

• Have user priority regarding bandwidth.

Personalization

• Picture for text communication.

• Format screen for individual preferences.

• Colors, fonts.

• Access for the visually impaired.
