This chapter will introduce you to various graphic and audio capabilities provided by Visual Basic 2005 Express. You will learn how to work with a number of new classes associated with the System.Drawing.Graphics namespace. Using objects created from classes stored in this namespace, you will learn how to draw custom graphics in your applications. You will also learn how to use the SoundPlayer control to enable playing sounds in your applications. In addition, you will learn how to work with the classes stored in the My namespace in order to create a small application called the Audio Jukebox. On top of all this, you will learn how to create this chapter's game project, the VB Doodle game.
Specifically, you will learn how to:
Work with the Graphics, Pen, Pens, Brush, and Brushes classes
Draw both graphics and text
Work with the SoundPlayer class in order to add sounds to your applications
Use classes in the My namespace to display a list of files and to play wave files
