A. Effects

• Lower blood pressure: Nifedipine > diltiazem > verapamil. They lower afterload because they dilate arteries more than veins.

• Nodal blockade and negative inotropy: Verapamil > diltiazem >>> nifedipine.

• Migraine prophylaxis? No net benefit in controlled trials.
