Chapter 10. Note Taking 201: An Advanced Course

In This Chapter

  • Format your text with fonts and styles

  • Use OneNote to create To Do lists

  • Create, customize, and use Note Flags

When you take notes on paper, you probably don't write each line or word in exactly the same way. For example, you might underline important topics, circle definitions, highlight to-dos, or even use a different color for certain types of notes. You can do the same thing in OneNote. Through the use of fonts, styles, and different pens on a Tablet PC, you can create highly formatted notes that provide an easy visual representation of the relative importance of different topics.

In addition to using different fonts and styles, OneNote contains a built-in note flagging system. You can create a variety of different Note Flags for different purposes. These Note Flags can be customized to meet your individual needs. In this chapter, we'll cover the use of fonts, styles, and Note Flags to provide a high level of detail for your notes.
