Block alignment

 < Day Day Up >

By default the text in all paragraphs, lists, and other block elements aligns horizontally to the left, as do images. You can alter that value by placing your cursor into a block and using the Alignment buttons on the Property inspector, or by choosing Text ® Align. The options are Left, Center, and Right.

Tip

To align all the text in the entire page of paragraphs and other block elements, choose the <body> tag; then click the desired alignment icon.

Floating images in a text block

Habitat Alert site   To wrap the text in a paragraph around an image inside the same block follow these steps:

  1. In the  mission_statement.htm file, select the Mission Statement image.

  2. Click the arrow for the Align menu and click Right. Table 33-2 shows the results of each align option.

The Align menu floats the selected image, adjusting the remaining content to the selected image, and places an align="value" inside the <img> tag.

See Chapter 34 to understand how to create more complex image and text layouts. Using the Align menu to float an image may not offer a solution for the layout you desire.
