That's essentially all there is to TextTool. Twelve different Java objects, five Flash objects, and a multi-threaded client-server design may seem like a lot of work just to save, load, or delete a file; however, it's important to keep in mind that probably 90 percent of TextTool (including PocketServer and all three PocketServices) is actually generic, reusable services that can be extended quickly and easily to build a variety of applications, such as messaging clients, email utilities, even sophisticated systems with database back-ends. Admittedly, TextTool was a relatively simple example designed primarily for demonstration purposes. I'll leave it to you to take the technology to the next level. |
