Appendix B - Template and Stencil Reference

This appendix lists all the templates that are installed by default with your Visio product and the stencils that are opened by them. Visio installs each template and its stencils in a Solutions folder (by default, C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Visio 10\1033\Solutions). The Solutions folders in this appendix are listed in alphabetical order.

Templates and Stencils in Visio Standard

Visio Standard includes the core set of business diagramming templates that are also provided in all other versions of Visio. Tables B-1 and B-2 list the templates available in Visio Standard and the stencils that each template opens.

Custom Patterns – Unscaled	This stencil contains standard CAD hatch and fill patterns, including architectural hatch patterns (for walls, floors, and roofs), topographical and landscape hatch patterns, and masonry hatch patterns.
Embellishments	This stencil contains ornamentations and decorative shapes that you can place in drawings, presentations, and reports.
Symbols	This stencil contains currency symbols, warning signs, danger signs, bathrooms, restrooms, hospitality signs, food signs, environmental symbols, and mail signs for hospitality services and weather reports.

Templates and Stencils in Visio Professional

Visio Professional installs all the templates and stencils listed earlier—that is, everything in Visio Standard is also in Visio Professional. In addition, Visio Professional installs a variety of templates for technical professionals that aren't included with Visio Standard. Table B-3 lists the templates available in Visio Professional and the stencils that each template opens.
