Section 2.2: OSPF

Q: I have already advertised R1 loopback within EIGRP; do you still want me to do this in OSPF?

A: You should advertise this within both.

Q: I can't get an adjacency across my ATM as this is NBMA; if I cannot adjust what network it is under OSPF, how can I form a neighbor?

A: This is a back-to-basics type question; what mechanisms are available to you for NBMA network types?

Q: I have configured neighbor statements on my Frame Relay routers; is this sufficient?

A: This will help, but if you still cannot form an adjacency you need to investigate why. Try some of the OSPF debugs that are available to you.

Q: I can see there is an MTU issue when I debug OSPF; can I change the MTU back to default on the Frame Relay network?

A: No, you will need to find an OSPF workaround.

Q: My loopback interfaces have come out as host routes, is this acceptable?

A: No, use an OSPF feature to ensure they are advertised with the correct mask.
