Conclusion

To recap:

Pass it on.

Do what you love.

Try not to lie.

Don't be piggy .

Don't limit your self-definition.

Hone your drive.

Don't rest on the past.

There's nothing like standing in front of a Marshall stack with a Les Paul, slamming with a tight rhythm section. It feels immense. But a lot of people hit something new (like music) really hard at first and then lose interest with time. Music just takes perseverance . If you're committed to an hour a day for many years , you can probably do everything you want in music. I have.

Don't worry about all the other cool bands in the world. Music ain't competition; it's communication. Just make great music. There can never be too much good art. That's like there being too much love or sex or happiness. The Universe loves you every time you write, sing, record, sell, or give away a great song.

And most likely it won't come as one big "break"; it will come as a continuum of small things that add up to a lifetime of successfully sharing art and maybe making a little money.

If your art has wings, it will fly.
