How to Get the Most from This Book


This book contains a wealth of ideas, information and inspiration. Here are my recommendations for how you can benefit the most from this book.

First, glance through the table of contents. It will give you a good understanding of what is covered in each chapter. Then select which of the three parts of the book you wish to begin with and read each of the laws within that part.

I like the format of Harvey Mackay’s book Swim with the Sharks because its short chapters allow you to read in small bites. I designed this book so that it would be fast reading, even though with the scope of information it covers, you won’t read it at a single sitting. But you will find that you won’t go for more than a couple of pages before you come to a new topic. You can pick up the book and read almost any page or two and get a snapshot of self-contained useful information. I’ve also relied on lists, tables, and quotes to provide a change a pace as you read, so you should find yourself looking forward to turning to the next page. You’ll also find what I call the core of the law at the end of each chapter that discusses one of the 10 laws.

Talk about what most interests you with your colleagues, sales associates, or sales manager. Implement a new idea and then judge how well it works for you. Assess your current level of effectiveness and decide how you would like to take it to the next level.
