  • HTTP You learned how HTTP optimizes web content delivery between origin servers and user agents, using HTTP persistence, pipelining, and cache controls. You also learned the differences between HTTP 1.0 and HTTP 1.1, the major being the ability to extend the functionality of HTTP 1.1 by adding HTTP headers without changing the protocol itself.

  • SSL You learned how to secure your web content using the PKI encryption and certificates specific to the SSL protocol.

  • FTP You learned how FTP works, and in particular the differences between active- and passive-FTP.
