Although you can't assign a group of resources to a single task, it is helpful to organize resources into logical groups for organizational purposes. Grouping allows you to view how resources are related, similar to outlining the task list.

Notice that most of the resources are assigned to a group in the Group field already. Let's assign the remaining resource to one of these groups.

  1. Click the Group field for the Melissa Peterson resource.

    Melissa belongs to the CustomGuide group.

  2. Type CustomGuide in the Group field and press Enter.

    Assigning a resource to a group is easy, isn't it?

    Now let's see how the resource sheet changes when you group the resources.

  3. Select Project Your resources are now sorted into groups on your resource sheet, as shown in Figure 6-6.

    Ungroup the resource and go back to viewing them in the order in which they were entered.

  4. Select Project

  1. CLICK THE GROUP FIELD OF THE RESOURCE.

  2. ENTER THE GROUP NAME.

  • SELECT PROJECT
