Developing your Flash assets in FreeHand or other vector-based illustration tool brings what we refer to as legacy to the table. With legacy in hand, new material can be more quickly created. Everything from an HTML sister site ”developed with Macromedia's Fireworks ”to promotional materials are much easier to create out of the assets generated by FreeHand (see figure 09:17). These future spin-off projects are perhaps the biggest win we receive from using FreeHand. Such spin-offs are good for our company financially especially because the legacy assets are in place. Anyone who has tried to get viable assets out of Flash knows that the process is far more difficult.
