Chapter8.Print Management

Chapter 8. Print Management

In this chapter, we'll take a look at how you can optimize printing. We'll cover everything from printer setup to configuration and management. You'll learn how and when printer software communicates with printer hardware, how to set up printer pools and priorities, and how to take advantage of printer spooling.

Network printing is also covered. Setting up a network printer requires a decent amount of configuration, and in this chapter you'll learn how to take an existing printer and make it available on the network, how to connect clients to the network printer, and how to configure its permissions. Finally, you'll learn how to set up the printer to print to an IP address and how to redirect print jobs.
