Introducing People to the XP Tester Role

Going from working in a separate test group to being a member of the development team is a tricky transition for some testers. If you're a tester who's interested in trying new things and you like the way Extreme Programming practices are designed to promote quality, you're probably excited about taking on the role of XP tester. If you're not confident of your technical skills, you've had bad experiences in the past working with programmers, you like the security of working in a test organization, you feel testing should be independent from development, or for a host of other good reasons, you may not be so keen on becoming an XP tester.
