21.7. About the Authors

Scott Lederer is a Ph.D. student in Human-Computer Interaction in the Computer Science Division at the University of California, Berkeley. His research aims to empower people to make sense of and appropriate the deeply augmented world.

Jason I. Hong is an assistant professor in the Human-Computer Interaction Institute (HCII) at Carnegie Mellon University. His research is centered on ubiquitous computing, focusing on privacy, end-user programming, interaction techniques, and deployment issues.

Anind K. Dey is an assistant professor in the Human-Computer Interaction Institute (HCII) at Carnegie Mellon University. He joined the HCII after spending three years as a senior researcher at Intel Research Berkeley and as an adjunct assistant professor in electrical engineering and computer science at the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Dey's research focuses on the intersection of ubiquitous computing and human-computer interaction.

James A. Landay is an associate professor in computer science and engineering at the University of Washington, specializing in human-computer interaction. His research interests include automated usability evaluation, demonstrational interfaces, ubiquitous computing, user interface design tools, and web design. He is also the laboratory director of Intel Research Seattle, a university-affiliated research lab that is exploring the new usage models, applications, and technology for ubiquitous computing.
