My Themes Got Killed

graphics/troubleshooting_icon.jpg

I'm working with a team of developers on my site. Some of them don't use FrontPage 2003. Someone edited something somewhere, and now all my theme elements are seriously tweaked. I thought FrontPage 2003 themes used CSS. Why did this happen? What can I do?

FrontPage uses CSS to apply themes, but some elements of themes are still very much FrontPage specific (such as the graphical title bars). The good news is that you can easily reapply your theme to any page in your site and that should undo whatever problems you've found.

Different Hyperlink Colors

Visitors don't see the same hyperlink colors that I set in my theme.

It is important to remember that anything set in a theme is merely a recommendation of how you'd suggest that your site be viewed. Most higher-end browsers allow the user to set hyperlink colors and choose fonts, and the decision of the user overrides anything you set in a theme.

The same is true for graphics. If your user sets her browser to not show graphics (or the browser is incapable of showing them), these theme elements obviously won't show up as well.
