Image Tracing

It is hard to design a Web site from scratch. Sitting at a desk with little more than FrontPage to create how your site will look is both overwhelming and, in some ways, impractical. Sometimes you need a little push to start the process.

For others, the process of design is simply beyond their reach. This type requires a standard from which to start the design process.

New to FrontPage 2003 is the ability to place an image in the background of the Design view so you can "trace" your site around the image. This gives you the ability to create a Web site layout from a single image.

NOTE

Image tracing is only a tool used from within FrontPage. Any images used in this feature will not be seen by anyone viewing your site content.

By tracing a site from an image, a designer can quickly lay out a site with a graphical representation of how it should look. Developing a site design from an existing graphic through this method also allows you to divide the design elements in to a layout that is considerably faster to render and load.
