Aligning images without using tables is more difficult and you are limited to what you can do with the built-in alignment commands.
To see how this works, you need to have an image and a large block of text with which to work.
59. Align Images Without Tables
1. | Insert an Image Insert one of your images into a page. In the Image Properties dialog box, when you insert the image, set the Align Text to Image on the Appearance tab to At the Top , click OK , and add a block of text. The top of the image aligns with the top of the first line of text of the text block. |
2. | Set the Image Alignment to In the Center Double click on the image and, in the Image Properties dialog box, set the Align Text to Image on the Appearance tab to In the Center and then click OK . The vertical middle of the image aligns with the middle of the first line of text of the text block. |
3. | Set the Image Alignment to At the Bottom Double-click on the image and, in the Image Properties dialog box, set the Align Text to Image on the Appearance tab to At the Bottom and then click OK . The bottom of the image aligns with the bottom of the first line of text of the text block. |
4. | Set the Image Alignment to Wrap to the Left The image now aligns to the left edge of the window and the text flows around the image. |
5. | Set the Image Alignment to Wrap to the Right Double-click on the image and, in the Image Properties dialog box, set the Align Text to Image on the Appearance tab to Wrap to the Right and then click OK . The image now aligns to the right edge of the window and the text flows around the image. |
