When you set your headline to <h1> , the type increased in size . Each heading has its own display style that is associated with it. An <h1> tag has a size and weight of type that is determined by the browser. You can change that text or any text to display differently by selecting the text and applying the formatting options from the Format toolbar.

1.
Highlight a Few Words of Your Text

You are going to explore different text changes you can bring to your web page. In my example, I create a highlight for your first line of text by making the text larger than the surrounding text and bold. You should highlight some text by selecting it.

2.
Click on Either the Increase or Decrease Size Icon

Each time you click on the Increase Size icon, the selected text gets larger and is wrapped in the <BIG> tag. If you click on the Decrease Size icon, the selected text gets smaller.

3.
Click on the Bold Icon

The Bold icon wraps the selected text in the <STRONG> tag.

4.
Select Some Text and Set a Different Font

You can actually try a few of the formatting options here on the selection. The Foreground Color, Decrease and Increase Size, Highlight Text Color, Bold, Italic , and Underline buttons only affect the text you have highlighted.

5.
Save Your File

You can keep using the same file to try other formatting options so you can see what different formatting options do in relation with each other.
