Participating in the Development of EPF

Anyone can help enhance EPF.

Because EPF is developed applying the same open source principles and rules as any other Eclipse project, anyone can view the open source code and content as it evolves, and anyone can help enhance it. For this approach to work, there need to be some rules of engagement.

Eclipse is run as a meritocracy: you earn your entitlement to collaborate by demonstrating an ability to add value. Anybody can submit suggestions for enhancements, and anybody can submit content or code to be included in future versions of EPF. People who submit content or code are called "contributors."

Those who have the right actually to make changes to the product are called "committers." This group determines which of the changes proposed by contributors should be included in the next release. Typically, committers are also contributors. Contributors who have proved themselves over an extended period of time can become committers.

You can find more information about how Eclipse works, and about EPF, at www.eclipse.org.
