Summary
This chapter introduced the features of VisualAge for Java and showed you how to build applets and applications. It also described the VisualAge Composition Editor, which helps build GUIs by connecting visual or GUI Beans with nonvisual or invisible Beans. VisualAge for Java is an alternative tool that can be used to integrate with R/3 systems and access BAPIs. SAP's BOR (Business Object Repository) can also be used to obtain the same functionality as VisualAge for Java. As an SAP tool, BOR is more integrated with SAP than Visual Age for Java is, and it has other advantages as well. Chapter 12, 'SAP's Business Object Repository,' covers BOR in more detail.
