Chapter 9. Playing and Organizing Your Digital Movies

In This Chapter

  • Introduction to My Videos

  • Organizing and sorting videos

  • Watching and sharing videos

  • Troubleshooting My Videos

There's more to video than just television. In the preceding part of this book, we discussed Media Center's prowess in the area of television viewing and recording, but TV is only one potential source of video for your Media PC. Your system is also thoroughly proficient at handling video derived from other sources, including DVDs, the Web, and even your own camcorder.

In this chapter, we'll look at some of Media Center's basic video-handling capabilities regarding content that is not provided by your TV programming service. These features are not accessed through Media Center's My TV interface. Instead, you'll want to select the My Videos menu item from the Media Center Start page (see Figure 9.1).

Figure 9.1. The My Videos section of Media Center is the primary place to play and organize your collection of digital video files.
