Test Site Requirements and a Little Advice

It is advised that you arrive at the test site one hour before your exam. Take a little time to get comfortable with the surroundings at the test site, sign in at the registration desk, and take the time to study any charts and details that you feel are your weak points. Depending on the schedule of tests at the test site, you can generally take care of the paperwork, find a quiet area to do some last-minute cramming, and then go take the tests. If no one is scheduled before you, it may be possible to take the tests before your scheduled time. You will be asked to provide two forms of identification at the testing site. A valid driver's license and a credit card are sufficient. One form of identification must be a photo ID. When you are ready to enter the testing room, you will be given a blank sheet of paper and a marker or pencil. You cannot take any other books or notes with you. Cell phones are usually not allowed. If you are taking both A+ exams together, you will be allowed a quick break after the first one.

After you have signed in at the testing center, a testing coordinator will direct you to a computer that will have your test ready to go. You may be required to enter a security ID before you start the test. This ID is normally your Social Security number. The testing coordinator will inform you of any special procedures for the particular testing center.

The CompTIA Certification Program has been changed recently to produce a more valuable and desired certification. This book is up to date with the current exams.
