The SystemImager package uses the rsync software and (optionally) the SSH software to copy the contents of a system, called the Golden Client, onto the disk drive of another system, called the SystemImager server. A clone of the Golden Client can then be created by booting a new system off of a specially created Linux boot floppy containing software that formats the locally attached disk drive(s) and then pulls the Golden Client image off of the SystemImager server.
This cloning process can be used to create backup servers in high-availability server pairs, or cluster nodes. It can also be used to update cloned systems when changes are made to the Golden Client.
