The built-in support for Analysis Services object processing handles some situations, but overall doesn’t provide the flexibility needed to handle many enterprise BI processing requirements (such as transaction grouping or dynamic partition processing and creation). But SSIS does include the tools to create much more robust solutions to processing your SSAS objects. Specifically, by using a combination of the SSAS Execute DDL Task, the Script Task, and the Execute Process Task, you can then take advantage of dynamic XMLA, AMO, or the ASCMD executable, respectively.
Now that we have covered SSIS principles in loading data warehouse structures and processing cubes, the focus in Chapter 7 will shift to stabilizing your packages (through error handling, restartability, and transactions).
