INTRODUCTION
You can apply a color pattern or texture to the slide background to create yet another choice of slide backgrounds. The Fill Effects dialog box offers a variety of textures and patterns you can apply.
HINT
Caution
Use caution when applying textures to your slides. Choosing a busy background texture can make your slide text difficult to read. You might need to adjust the boldness, color, or font size to remedy the situation, or try another texture. See Part 4 to learn more about working with slide text.
To apply a pattern instead of a texture, click the Pattern tab of the Fill Effects dialog box.
Click the pattern you want to use and click OK .
Click Apply to apply the texture or pattern to the current slide, or click Apply to All to apply it to all the slides in the presentation.
PowerPoint applies the new texture or pattern. In this example, a texture is applied to the current slide.
TIP
Choosing a Pattern Color
To choose a specific color for your background pattern, click the Foreground or Background drop-down arrow on the Pattern tab and specify a color.
TIP
Changing the Text Color
If you choose a texture or pattern that makes your slide text illegible, you can try changing the text color to alleviate the problem. See Part 4 to learn how to change the color of text in a text object.
