Summary

[ LiB ]

In many ways this chapter was inadequate. I covered everything but nothing in enough detail to really go use it. That's okay because the goal was an overview. Ideally your interest is sparked and you want to dig in deeper. Also, we can go off in various specific directions now, but you shouldn't get lost because topics can be put in perspective.

This chapter introduced the following:

  • How data considerations can be quite involved.

  • The three data exchange formats Flash supports (text, AMF, and SOAP).

  • Many reasons why data exchanges involve error checks and synchronization issues.

  • How application servers work.

  • Some basics about the V2 components .

  • The graphic map that appears as a guide in subsequent chapters. Be sure to refer back to this figure.
