Chapter 12.  Email Attacks

12.8 Summary

Chapter 12 finishes our review of malicious Internet code and related browser content. Today's email clients are Internet-enabled and capable of passing along rogue code at the speed of electricity. For most people and companies, the risk of email-enabled malicious mobile code is too high to allow active content to launch from within an email. Disable any email client functionality that allows executables, macros, and scripting languages to be executed. Chapter 13 will discuss how to tell the difference between a real and a hoax virus warning.
