iDVD 5: CREATING THEMES THAT WORK ON TV

If you're creating your own custom iDVD themes, you have to be careful not to get your buttons or any other content too close to the edges, or when your DVD is played on a TV screen, the edges will be cropped off (that's just the way TV works). However, you can make certain that you don't enter this "no man's land" area (called the NTSC title safe area by the video crowd) by going under the Advanced menu and choosing Show TV Safe Area. This puts a backscreened border around the outside edges of your theme, indicating which areas to steer clear of.
