Although Apple no longer lists Favorites in Open/Save dialogs, and the Command-T shortcut no longer adds files to the Favorites folder, your Favorites folder is still around (it's in your Home folder, in your Library folder, but I recommend dragging it to your sidebar). But here's a trick that helps make using the old Favorites folder easier. Go under the Finder menu and choose Preferences. Click on the General icon, and for New Finder Windows Open, choose Other from the pop-up menu, then navigate to your Library folder (inside your Home folder) and click on Favorites. By doing this, if you press Command-N, it now opens your Favorites folder, rather than a new Finder window, and you can then Command-Option-drag items into your Favorites folder (which makes an alias of them, just like the old Favorites folder). |
